Jerricka Leigh

Jerricka Leigh was born on Tuesday, September 9th at 3:29 p.m. She weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 19 3/4" long. She was born by C-section without any complications.
If anyone is keeping score that is granddaughters - 4; grandsons - 0. The pink is definitely dominating this family.!
Janelle arrived at the hospital at 1:00 pm that day to be monitored for 2 hours. She was having pretty good contractions, and they were consistant. Now you'll remember that no one knew the sex of this baby, it was a mystery, and let me tell you, the staff was even excited when she was born.! They wheeled her back into surgery, and Darci, Jim, the girls and I patiently waited at the nursery. Then about 20 minutes later, here comes a nurse with a chart that said "West" on it...must mean our mystery baby is coming soon. All of a sudden Darci shouts out "IT'S A GIRL.!!" Just to the left of her chart was a "Baby Girl" sign. Now we just needed the baby.! Here she came and WOW....another darling red head.! She has strawberry blonde hair, and her skin was SO soft and red. She is definitely their combo child. She looks mostly like Joel at this point, but she does have McKenna in her too. She has a calm temperment already. She's quite content just eating, sleeping and pooping.
Janelle came home at about 2:00 pm on Thursday, so a little less than 48 hours after surgery. Grandma stayed at their house Tuesday through Thursday, with Grandpa coming to rescue Grandma at night. If I needed a reminder how nice it was to have kids when I was young, that was it. Those two kept us hopping.!
In the pictures, you'll tell that she has two extra little mothers. They instantly swarmed her as soon as they came home. McKenna just loves to hold her and kiss her, and Hailee will give her a nice slap on the back (watching Mommy burp her) every once in a while. Thank goodness Nanny is coming out tomorrow, and staying for a week. We'll take Hailee back home with us Saturday-Tuesday, then take Nanny up to Flagstaff to see Josh, Darci, and Ainsley.
Speaking of Aunt Darci. I'm not sure who was more excited about Jerricka, her parents, or Aunt Darci.! She was ear-to-ear grin the entire time, holding back her happy tears.
We love her already and can't wait to get group pictures with out newest additions. Enjoy.!
